Embarking on a Culinary Journey: First Vietnamese Cooking Class

Welcome to our culinary adventure!

My name is Minh Minh, and cooking has been my passion since I was a child, learning from my lovely mother. With over 20 years of experience and countless journeys around the world, I’ve absorbed a world of flavors. As a journalist, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my love for food in various publications. I am thrilled to share the essence of Vietnamese cuisine through our first cooking class.

Vietnamese cuisine is renowned for its balance of flavors, vibrant colors, and harmonious blend of fresh herbs and spices. From the iconic Pho to the delicate Banh Mi, each dish tells a story of Vietnam’s rich culinary heritage.

I was delighted to welcome our first guests to the class: Camille, a French traveler who is a person loved Vietnam so much by learning Vietnamese for many years, and Céline, a French teacher who has been living in Vietnam for a long time. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the class truly special. They love vegetarian food so a vegan meal is a suitable choice to do.

We started our class by preparing vegan main ingredients such as tofu, and mushrooms combined with fresh vegetables and fruits. Both of them cooked very well, especially on vegan pecking duck by the technique of cutting King oyster mushroom. It was so important to make a successful crispy golden fried duck. As we cooked, I shared stories from my travels in Vietnam, where I learned the secrets of authentic Vietnamese cooking from local chefs. These moments brought a touch of authenticity and a deeper understanding of the culture behind the cuisine.

Merci beaucoup, Camille and Céline, for making our first class a memorable one. We’re thrilled you loved your experience at Meet Up Saigon. I look forward to sharing more culinary experiences with all of you.

My friend and I took a vegetarian cooking class with Minh. We had a lovely afternoon when we cooked three dishes: a soup, duck and some tofu balls.
The setting was charming, with a dinning room upstairs decorated with a French touch. After a busy afternoon cooking, we had a lovely dinner with French music played on vinyl in the background accompanied by great conversation.
The entire experience was wholesome and all meal cooked were delicious. I recommend adding Minh’s cooking class to your list of to do things in Saigon.
